Abubakar Sadik Adam

Abubakar Sadik Adam is a seasoned professional with over four decades of diverse experience in both public and private sectors. He began his career as a Marketing Officer II at Nigerian Airways Ltd in Lagos from 1983 to 1985, before transitioning to a Senior Commercial Manager role at NTA Yola. Abubakar then joined Cotton and Agricultural Processors Ltd, Zaria, a subsidiary of the NNDC Group, where he held various managerial positions, including Assistant Commercial Manager, Commercial Manager/Head of Department, Company Secretary, Assistant General Manager, and Division Manager (North East Zone).
In 2002, Abubakar joined the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), where he has held numerous leadership roles over the past two decades. His positions at NHIS include Assistant General Manager in the Operations, Investment and Revenue Generation, and Human Resources & Administration Departments, as well as Head of the Legal Unit, Management Information Systems (MIS), and Zonal Coordinator for the Lagos and North East Zones. Abubakar currently serves as the Acting Executive Secretary/CEO of the NHIS.
Alongside his impressive work experience, Abubakar
Sadik Adam has also earned an exceptional educational background. He holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bayero University,
Kano, which he obtained in 1982. Furthering his studies, Abubakar went on to
earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Jos,
Plateau State, in 1987. Demonstrating his commitment to continued learning,
Abubakar later obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Ahmadu Bello University,
Zaria, in 2002, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003. His unique blend of
business acumen and legal expertise has established him as a distinguished
leader in Nigeria's corporate landscape.
